Too many gadgets in your front porch, Eufy brings the new solution, a 3-in-1 solution combined with multiple smart gadgets into one pack, the new Eufy Security Video Smart Lock. The device has a door bell, camera and door lock.
This Smart Lock offers 3rd generation finger print detection with the latest “Self-Learning Fingerprint Identification” chip. The Eufy claims to recognize your fingerprint in about one-third of a second. The best part being, the AI algorithm keeps an eye on the frequently-used fingerprint and accelerates the process for your brisk entry.
Eufy has made sure that the lock can be operated via the Eufy Security mobile app, the on-device keypad, or via the old-school way of using a physical key as well. When you are at home, the optional auto-lock feature ensures to lock the door behind you, in case you’re busy on that call while getting in the house. But, it doesn’t lock you out. This feature can also be activated on a schedule or even with a time delay after detecting you’ve closed the door, the notifications of which are sent to your registered mobile.
With the door lock camera, you can monitor your front porch with a built-in Wi-Fi in full 2K resolution. The Eufy offers an in-built 2K camera that covers a peripheral view of 160-degree for you to record a video with a 4:3 aspect ratio along with 4 infrared lights for night vision. Again, this camera is AI-powered, that detects a person based on movements.
Most of all, there is no monthly subscription, you can save all the recordings on a microSD card that goes in the indoor chime. But this does not mean that you will be swarmed with false notifications even when someone just potters about on your porch, thanks to its Dual Motion Detection combined with passive infrared detection with radar that together detect a human from as far as 19ft away and send a notification only when needed.
This Smart Lock will let you speak to the person outside the door via its two-way audio provision that can be used without even opening the door since this lock is fixed on the outside right on the door that faces the front of the house. Eufy has built this lock to withstand the elements with an IP65 rating, and has an operating temperature range of -30℃ to 70℃.
It has been pull tested with 10,000 Newtons of pressure. For longevity, the testers have locked and unlocked it for over 2,00,000 times, and its keyboard has been press tested for over 10,000 times. Eufy also claims that with all the features turned on, the door-mounted Smart Lock will last up to 120 days with its rechargeable battery.
With all these facts and features put together, you will not miss the hassle of buying the usual package or hardware separately that (almost) serves the same purpose. Hence, if you are looking for one, the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock is currently available for preorder on Kickstarter in the US, Canada, and Australia for $230 for early birds, while the shipping is currently expected in May. However, if you want to get your hands on the Smart Lock after the ‘early birds’ list, Kickstarter campaign will list it for $400.
